Midwest Storm Produces 56 Tornadoes in 2 Days; Headline ReviewsResidents of North Dakota and North Carolina were hit by what the National Weather Service reported as the second-largest October storm recorded with torrential winds, rain and snow, and 56 tornadoes in just 2 days.

"Tornadoes formed as far east as Virginia, with eight touching down in Indiana, three in Kentucky and six in Ohio. Some residents across the Midwest and the East Coast also lost power as a result of the storm."

Tornadoes also affected the states of Wisconsin, Tennessee, Ohio and Illinois where homes were flattened and road accidents resulted.

Two days ago on Tuesday, Illinois residents were told by meteorologist forecasters that they should brace themselves for  possibly the most intense storm in over 70 years to pass through the area.

500 flights at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport had to be cancelled causing numerous delays and financial losses.
