Giants Fan May Require Removal of a Frontal Lobe

LOS ANGELES | April 3, 2011

Sketches of Suspects in Giants Fan Beating5th District Supervisor and Mayor, Mike Antonovich of the Los Angeles Board of Supervisors has issued a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those men who severely beat a Giants fan in Parking Lot 2 at the end of the Dodgers opening festivities held at Dodger Stadium last Thursday. The victim, who has been identified as Bryan Stow, is a 42-year old Santa Cruz paramedic and father of two.

THE ATTACK

The attack occurred about 8:30 p.m. in Parking Lot 2 and was unprovoked when two unidentified men approached Bryan Stow and two others wearing Giants apparel and then attacked the three, kicking and punching them while shouting obscenities about the Giants. A security-camera video captured the incident and witnesses have provided details about the two unidentified men.

CURRENT MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS

Initially thought of as a mere head injury as Bryan hit his head on the pavement during the attack, Byran is now in a medically induced coma according to statements made by family members to the Santa Cruz Sentinel.

PROGNOSIS

"He’s not doing too well," said brother-in-law David Collins. "He’s still unconscious, and they just decided to put him in a medically induced coma.” The brother in law even mentioned that if the swelling in Bryan’s brain does not go down, the doctors may have to remove one of Bryan’s frontal lobes.
